Raspberry Ripple (working title The Wheelchair Warrior) is a pilot for the feature film project Welcome to the Bluebird Experience and features a sound track
which includes an early 1960’s rock ‘n’ roll classic along with an original score.
Casting the character of ex rocker Des Gilroy proved difficult until Patrick came up with the idea of asking legendary guitarist Mick Green to consider the role,
which he did and to our delight carried it off brilliantly. Mick is a long term member of The Pirates
and a former member of Johnny Kidd and The Pirates.
Mick is today a busy working musician being one of the top lead-guitarists in the UK and regularly plays with Sir Paul McCartney, Van Morrison, Brian Ferry and
others. The Pirates music will be used in the feature film version, Welcome to the Bluebird Experience.
The Spoils
from Liverpool played the young rock band in the film and did a terrific job.
Raspberry Ripple was filmed over 4 days in the late summer of 2005; 3 days in South, Central & East London and 1 day in Chelmsford. Scenes from the film were
filmed in a variety of locations which included Gayfere Road in Surrey, Park Road in Chelmsford, St Mary’s church Neasden, The Borderline club in Tottenham
Court Road and The Mildmay Mission Hospital in East London.
